“Healing Foods for Mood”
9/6/11: 5:30-6:30pm
Shannon Montoya, NC
Many people go through the day feeling blue and sluggish without realizing just how the foods they are eating (and craving) may be affecting them negatively. Bauman College graduate Shannon Montoya, NC delivered an eye-opening presentation at Alta Bates Summit on this critical topic. Attendees enjoyed samples of a hearty mood-boosting dish, made with ingredients donated by Whole Foods in Berkeley, and from Shannon’s own homestead.
Shannon Montoya transitioned from a career as a nurse in family medicine to study nutrition and holistic health therapies. She is a certified Nutrition Consultant and member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals. Shannon focuses on how dietary choices affect the body, mind, and spirit and takes an interest in the connection between food, mood and recovery in her practice.
