I entered the realm of music promotion, but putting on a concert sponsored by the Bahai's of Sonoma County on Nov 27, 2011. Over 100 people came to hear some inspiring traditional jazz with a touch of blues and gospel music. With the help of chefs Tiana Kraus and Naomi Tamoda, we made Eating for Health Chocolate Chip Cookies that we served with organic rice milk and the Vital Scoop green powder. What a satisfying combination, jazz, cookies and green milk! Many people asked for the recipe that follows. Find some music that puts you in a peaceful mood. Turn up the oven to 375, mix up a yummy cookie batter, invite some friends and family over to dig in and enjoy. Don't forget the Vital Scoop and milk. Ahh.....
Peace Jazz Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Method
preheat oven to 375 F
1. Using stand mixer, cream the butter and maple syrup together until fluffy.
2. Add eggs one at a time, blending thoroughly between additions. Add Vanilla extract and blend until mixed well
3. Add whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and sea salt. Blend well
4. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts
5. Place heaping tablespoons of batter onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
6. Bake in a 375 oven for 10 minuets, or until edges start to brown. Remove from oven and cool

Thanks so much Ed for this recipe with maple syrup as a terrific sugar substitute. Will be
delighted
to keep it in mind for the future.
