Whole Food Nutrition for Healthy Weight: Hands-on Cooking Class

How can eating nutrient-dense whole foods help you lose those extra pounds? Proper nutrition can help reduce cravings, balance blood sugar, shift your metabolism toward burning fat, improve your digestion and increase your energy! Come learn how to cook food that will help your body return to a healthy weight AND be so delicious that you will not feel hungry or deprived.

The recipes for this hands-on cooking class will feature foods that are rich in spices, herbs, fiber, healthy fats, high quality protein and low carb. All recipes are gluten, grain and dairy free.

Recipe List:

Cream of Mushroom and Squash soup with Cashew Cream  (non dairy) 
Moroccan Spiced Chicken with roasted root vegetables
Baked Salmon Cakes
Coconut Lime Cauliflower Rice
Stir-fry Curried Carrot, Zucchini and Burdock Noodles
Irresistible  Beet Salad with Pumpkin Seeds and Orange-Shallot-Basil vinaigrette
Fudgy Superfood Brownies  (yes, you SHOULD eat chocolate!)
Class will start with a short presentation on the benefits of the featured foods, then we will prepare the dishes and eat together.

Cost is $85 + teacher material fee of $15.

Instructor: Susan Blanc is a nutrition & herbal therapist. She has a private practice in San Ramon and Berkeley and teaches at Bauman College as well as the California School of Herbal Studies.
