Lemon Chickpea Spread

Hello everyone, I'd like to share one of my favorite snack recipes.  It's super fast to mix together and goes great spread on crackers/chips or with vegetables. I use canned garbanzo beans for ease of preparation, however soaked beans of an equal amount work well if you have the time.

1 can garbanzo beans
2-3 ounces room temperature vegetable stock
1/2 tsp. Himalayan salt finely ground
1/4 tsp. fresh cracked black pepper
1-2 cloves pressed fresh garlic (more or less depending on preference)
Juice and zest from one organic lemon
(crushed red pepper flakes, optional)

Blend together the beans and vegetable stock in a food processor. Add the rest of the ingredients and pulse until combined and desired texture is reached. Adjust seasonings to taste. 
Additionally I love to add a few tablespoons of fresh herbs such as parsley or cilantro depending on what I have on hand. This spread is a great base for experimentation!

Wow, yummy! This looks amazing! It is similar to a hummus I make, would you say it has the same texture?
