Home Garden
« on: May 27, 2019, 07:43:51 AM »
I'm just getting into home gardening and looking for guidance and lessons learned

1. Do you test your soil?  If yes, what do you use to test it, if not what soil do you use until your have compost?
2. What's your favorite method for composting?
3. Do you do anything with the water to eliminate chemicals?
4. Any other guidance you have

Thank you!

Hi Jessica, I've always been interested in home gardening and have a vegetable garden in the backyard. When I first started gardening I was also concerned about soil health and composting. Last year I purchased a great book that guided me through the process and helped me to understand Perma-Culture. The book is called THE GUIDE TO PERMA-CULTURE and creating an edible ecosystem by Christopher Shein and Julie Thompson. This book has a lot of Info. on soil and compost basics. I attached a visual of the cover for you, hope it helps.
