lead in lipsticks
« on: October 12, 2007, 08:14:11 PM »
Hey!!
I was interviewed today by CBS news about using natural makeuptoday! I just happened to be talking to someone at the right time in the right place, and was asked to do an interview on CBS. They did a story about how there was a recent study on  popular lipstick brands having dangerous levels of lead in them. I talked about how anything you put on your body is absorbed by the body and you have to be aware of your ingredients!! Was pretty cool though!! Just wanted to share!!

very cool! spread the word!

I read the full list of lead lipstick culprits. In addition to the major brands having lead, Burt's Bee's merlot lip shimmer was on the list. I realize even with "natural" beauty products we still have to be careful.

Thanks for sharing the word about lead in lipsticks. I also checked out the EWG site for lipstick and a few other products so far.  If you haven't looked at the site before, it's definitely worth it.  Tons of valuable information.
