Preservatives Listing
« on: June 06, 2010, 03:04:33 PM »
Does anyone know where I can find a comprehensive list or commonly used preservatives, types of foods they're found in, health hazards, etc?

Thanks in advance

I use this book A Consumer's Dictionary of Food Additives, 7th Edition: Descriptions in Plain English of More Than 12,000 Ingredients Both Harmful and Desirable Found in Foods<img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=grainsmore-20&l=as2&o=1&a=0307408922" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />

I just found out that there is also one for cosmetics so I'll check it out of the library to see if it worth purchasing.  I normally check cosmetics and personal care products through the Environmental Working Group Cosmetics Database

Excellent! I'm going to see if my library has it.

Do let us know if what you think of the one for cosmetics.

Thanks so much for the reply.

I also really love Chemical Maze. There's a book and an app, which is really helpful for quick look-ups while shopping: https://chemicalmaze.com/.
