Title: Wild world of sugar sub research

There's a fascinating article in the May 22, 2006 New Yorker (p. 40) on "the tricky technology of sugar substitutes." It's written more from a cultural point of view than scientific, but still a bit of a jaw-dropper. Has anyone read it?
