This is great news, it's over 4 years away still but WF's are lightyears ahead of their competitors in the States.
Hopefully more grocery stores will follow suit!

Ever the cynic, I wonder why a store supposedly devoted to providing nutritionally superior whole foods and food products would ever have allowed GMOs in the first place. Why should they even be facing this issue? I believe the bigger problem most likely is the buyout of small food producers by corporate giants, such as Kraft and Kellogg, who are profit-driven only. This practice is getting more prevalent as time goes on. More to the point might be to avoid as much as possible the types of packaged foods that contain GMOs. These are generally highly processed and overly refined, anyway. And sticking to organic, which means absolutely no GMOs, sends an important message to food manufacturers about consumer priorities.
