simple chai
« on: October 10, 2009, 10:18:11 PM »
I make a simple chai that is very easy to make and easy to drink.
Equal parts of cinnamon powder, ginger, ground cardamon, and cloves.  For a teaspoon of each, I add a quart of water and then let it heat for atleast an hour, stirring occassionally. Add 1 black tea bag or 1 green tea bag at the end of the hour, removing it.  You can add a few shakes of black pepper if you please.  The mixture will be thick and syrupy.  To serve, mix 1:3 with soy milk.  Even if all you have is regular cow's milk, it will still be good.  Spicey too.
Despite their artistic pretensions, sophistication and many accomplishments, humans owe their existence to a six inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.-Anonymous
