My Mission in Life has Always Been to Help People
With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a professional background in the non-profit sector, my underlying mission in life has always been to help people. I am a certified nutrition consultant and view health and healing from a natural, whole person perspective. Yes, it is all connected!
I understand the therapeutic value of real, nutrient dense food. Also, I recognize the impact that environment, stress and mindset have on overall health. It was during my own personal health crisis where I discovered the world of holistic healing. This gives me first hand experience with healing imbalances within the body using nutrition and lifestyle practices.
I Took My Health into My own Hands
I have a professional background as a project manager and executive assistant. I spent the majority of my 20’s in and out of doctors offices and hospitals with little to no answers for my gut related symptoms (severe nutritional deficiencies, brain fog, fatigue, bloating, eczema, hair loss, insomnia, chronic pain, weight loss). Once I finally received a diagnosis of autoimmune gastritis I took my health into my own hands. I began researching diet and lifestyle suggestions to support gut health.
From there my healing journey began and I decided to take what was my lowest point in my life and make it my career and enrolled in the Nutrition Consultant Program at Bauman College. I really identified with the holistic approach to health, the Eating for Health Model and the 5 wellness practices. Bauman College gave me a solid understanding of nutrition education and the skills for me to succeed in the health and wellness field.
You are NOT What You eat, You are What You Digest!
My goal as a holistic nutritionist is to authentically educate and empower clients towards health and healing from a whole-person perspective. I believe in the Eating for Health model which emphasizes real, nutrient dense foods. I specialize in digestive wellness, the microbiome, autoimmune conditions and gut-brain connection. Gut health is foundational to your overall health. You are not what you eat, you are what you digest!
I Love Teaching, Being of Service to Others and Making an Impact
I created my own company, Lauren Emerson Wellness, where I work 1:1 with clients to help them achieve their health goals. Being a small business owner has always been a dream of mine. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to create my holistic health company.
In addition, I am a cooking instructor with Kids Cooking For Life. It is a non profit that that inspires lifelong healthy cooking and eating habits through cooking classes that serve students from low-income communities, Title 1 schools and students with special needs. I believe deeply in the power of education, especially at a young age.
On top of all of that, I am also a wellness facilitator with Bauman Wellness. Through Bauman Wellness, I teach Affordable Nutrition classes that focus on how to eat healthy on a budget. I love teaching, being of service to others and making an impact in peoples’ lives.
