Ahh, blueberries...let me count the ways that I love thee...

All who know me, know how I'm crazy about blending foods to get the most nutritional value out of them. Blueberries are no exception. Most of the nutritional content is in
the skins and the small seeds, which are both difficult to chew. So these and other small berries are best eaten blended with a powerful blender.

I like your use of the broccoli sprouts!

I've been having fun with some of the bounty and flavors of the summer. Try this combo.

Blueberrry and lavender coconut cream

-1 cup blueberries
-1 whole young thai coconut (meat and water to blend)
-2 T chia seeds (soaked in 1 cup coconut water)
-1 T raw organic honey (or to taste)

-1 T coconut oil
-1 cup strong lavender tea (1 cup water and 3 T lavender flowers, cool before blending)

Soak chia seeds in coconut water for 15 min (or overnight) Add the coconut oil to the tea water (to trap the oil soluble compounds) then simmer and cool lavender tea for 5 min, then combine in the blender all ingredients except the coconut water. Blend the thick slurry untill well pureed (this thick slurry helps to break down the cell structures better than letting it blend thinner) then slowly add the remaining coconut water untill you reach the consistancy you desire (adding more water or ice if necessary)

Other additional boosters:
-green tea (brewed with lavender),
-black pepper (Piperine increases the absorption and blood levels of antioxidants)
-Clove,cinnamon, or cardamom (loaded with antioxidants!)
-Beans (yes, beans, try small amounts of cooked or sprouted, like green lentils), -Purslane (a tender and lemony flavored green leafy vegetable with omega-3's and soothing mucilaginous properties)
-super green powders (people who cant stand the color or flavors are easily covered up by the color and flavor of blueberry)
-Raw cultured milk (makes any meal much healthier, just mix delicately in at the end of blending)
-Chocolate (just plain delicious, plus it increases the antioxidant load and absorption)

Anything healthy is possible with a powerful blender, invest in your whole foods health!

Blessings
Jay

This reminds me that in one of my recent homwork assignments I tested my Blackberry Smoothie with Citrus Blossom Honey & Spirulina.
Yield: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
1 quart Strauss organic whole milk yogurt
3 c blackberries, rinsed and frozen overnight
2 T citrus blossom honey
1 t pure spirulina powder
1 banana (optional)
Mint leaves for garnish
Directions:
1.   Puree all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
2.   Garnish each individual glass with mint and serve immediately.

This has recently evolved into:
Blueberry, Date & Avocado Smoothie
2 1/2 c blueberries
1/3 c chopped dates
1 t spirulina
1 qt whole milk kefir (replacing the yogurt)
& a mixture of one small local avocado and agave to taste (optional, instead of the banana)

And I am waiting patiently to bring this one back into style:
Blueberry & Calimyrna Fig Smoothie with Eucalyptus Honey
2 c blueberries
4 calimyrna figs
1 t spirulina
1 qt yogurt cheese
Eucalyptus honey tt
